Pop Queen Lizzo and Jack Black make epic cameos in latest Mandalorian episode

The Mandalorian, the Disney+ series set in the Star Wars universe, is on a roll with its smashing success, and the latest season 3 episode is a double whammy for fans of pop culture! Pop-rap queen Lizzo and the legendary actor Jack Black made their cameo appearances in episode 6, titled “Guns for Hire.”

As Lizzo joined the galaxy far, far away as The Dutchess, her excitement was undeniable. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared how her late father introduced her to Star Wars, which eventually became their favorite trilogy. She admitted to shedding tears when Jon Favreau, the creator of The Mandalorian, offered her the role, knowing how proud her father would be. Expressing her gratitude to the crew and her fellow cast members, she ended her post with “This is The Way… and May the Force be with you.”

Jack Black also hopped aboard The Mandalorian train, portraying The Dutchess’ captain. Although it’s unclear if Lizzo’s The Dutchess will return, her recent experience on the show, combined with previous roles in Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B, as well as voice acting gigs in The Simpsons and The Proud Family reboot, prove she’s getting the hang of being on screen.

Fans of the Star Wars franchise also received a much-awaited acknowledgement during the Star Wars Celebration. Disney officially confirmed The Old Republic era as part of the official timeline, which sparked excitement in fans. While there are no immediate plans for projects involving this era, its mere mention and possible inclusion in the canon Star Wars timeline have fans over the moon. Who knows what surprises lie ahead in the expanding Star Wars universe?
