Jim Jones Calls Out Pusha T’s Place on Greatest Rappers List

So, here’s the tea: Jim Jones is throwing some major shade at Pusha T. In case you missed it, Jones went all in during his appearance on Spotify’s RapCaviar podcast, questioning Pusha T’s spot on Billboard’s list of the 50 greatest rappers. The Dipset member was not shy about sharing his thoughts on the Clipse artist’s impact and influence, and let’s just say, he’s not exactly a fan.

Jones began his roast by asking, “What has [Pusha T] done that puts him in the greatest rappers of all time besides talk about coke that he probably didn’t get himself?” Oh snap! But he didn’t stop there, continuing to downplay Pusha T by saying, “He’s nice! He’s nice as s###. He could rap his ass off, but what has he done?”

And just in case that wasn’t enough to drive home his point, Jones really laid it on thick by dragging Pusha T’s whole image. “Nobody has dressed like him. Nobody want to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing,” he said. Jones even went so far as to claim that the criteria for a great rapper is, “the n#### that’s popping, the b###### wanna f### and the n##### wanna be like.” By that standard, Jones just isn’t feeling the Pusha T vibe, admitting, “I don’t know too many n##### in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T.”

Whew! Jones certainly isn’t holding back his thoughts, but it begs the question: does he have a point? Or is this just another instance of an artist throwing shade for the sake of throwing shade? Only time will tell if Pusha T will clap back, or if the rap world will continue to debate his spot on the greatest rappers list. But for now, let’s just sit back and enjoy the drama.
