Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton: First Half Player Ratings and Analysis

Ladies and gentlemen, hold on to your hats because we’re in for a wild ride as we break down the first half performance of our beloved Tottenham Hotspur in today’s Premier League clash against Brighton. We’re currently sitting at 1-1 after an absolute screamer from Son and a not-so-welcome equalizer from Dunk. Let’s dive right into it!

Starting off with our fearless captain, Hugo Lloris, who pulled off a fantastic save against Mac Allister, only to be let down by his defense when Dunk’s header found the net. Still, Hugo gets a solid 6 for his efforts.

Our boy Pedro Porro had a tantalizing brush with glory as his header skimmed the top of the net, but sadly couldn’t make it count. We’re giving Pedro a 5 for his first half.

Cristian Romero stayed out of the ref’s book, but will be kicking himself for letting Dunk have a clear run for that header. A disappointing 5 for Romero.

Poor Eric Dier – he’s had a bit of a mare so far, looking shaky and even gifting the ball to Brighton. He’ll need to step up in the second half. We’re giving Dier a 4.

Clement Lenglet tried to inject some attacking impetus with a couple of ventures forward, but it wasn’t quite enough. A middle-of-the-road 5 for Lenglet.

Ivan Perisic whipped in a tantalizing cross for Porro, who just couldn’t quite convert it. We’ll give Perisic a 6 for his contributions.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had a bit of a mixed bag in the first half, losing possession and taking too long on a shot that Dunk blocked. Not his finest 45 minutes, so he gets a 5.

On the flip side, Oliver Skipp has looked like the stronger of our midfield duo, with some promising balls over the top to Son. A 6 for Skippy!

What can we say about Heung-min Son other than “Wow!”? His 100th Premier League goal was a thing of beauty, curling in a stunning shot from the edge of the box. A well-deserved 7 for Sonny.

Dejan Kulusevski hasn’t had much impact on the game thus far, so we’re dishing out a 5 for his performance.

Lastly, our main man Harry Kane hasn’t had any clear-cut chances yet, but there’s still another 45 minutes to play. For now, we’re giving Kane a 6.

And there you have it, folks! Our Spurs players rated for the first half of this rollercoaster ride against Brighton. With another half to go, let’s hope our boys can kick it up a notch and secure those sweet, sweet three points! COYS!
