Molly Shannon Returns to Saturday Night Live with Nostalgic Showtune Performance

Hold onto your hats, folks, because the fabulous Molly Shannon made her triumphant return to Saturday Night Live, and she didn’t just walk back onto that stage, she sang her way back into our hearts! In true Molly style, she decided to belt out a showtune during the opening monologue, reminding us all why we fell in love with her during her original SNL stint from 1995 to 2001.

As she got the April 8 episode going, Molly opened up about her book Hello, Molly and the honesty she shared within its pages. “I mean, we all have problems, right,” she pondered. “My dad always taught me to keep my chin up and never give up on my showbiz dreams. He would play me old classic musicals. And he would tell me, ‘You know Molly, no matter what problems you face, if you keep a positive attitude everything will turn out ok.”

With a nostalgic glimmer in her eye, Molly broke into song about overcoming obstacles and the importance of positivity. She was soon joined onstage by a flurry of other cast members, including Molly Kearney, Kenan Thompson, and even the legendary Lorne Michaels! Oh, and did we mention that Martin Short made a guest appearance and threw in a cheeky Ozempic reference? What a wild ride!

As we eagerly await the video of this musical monologue, we can’t help but feel a sense of joy and excitement for the rest of the episode. With musical guests the Jonas Brothers set to join the party, who knows what other surprises are in store for us?

So, let’s all take a page from Molly’s book and face our problems head-on with a positive attitude, maybe even break into song when we need that extra push. We can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us during this unforgettable episode of Saturday Night Live!
