Republican Megadonor Harlan Crow’s Controversial Garden Filled with Statues of 20th Century Dictators

Republican megadonor Harlan Crow, a billionaire real estate heir who has an extensive collection of historical artifacts, including paintings by Adolf Hitler, signed copy of Mein Kampf, and Nazi memorabilia, reportedly also has a garden filled with statues of dictators from the 20th century. Crow, who lives in Dallas, has stated that he has amassed these items because of his hatred for communism and fascism. In addition to his controversial collections, Crow is also known for allegedly lavishing Justice Clarence Thomas with free trips on his private plane and yacht, potentially violating Supreme Court ethics rules. Crow’s dictator garden, or “Garden of Evil,” contains statues of the likes of Lenin, Stalin, Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, and Yugoslav dictator Josip Broz Tito, which Crow claims are artifacts from public squares in Europe and Asia that were toppled at the end of dictatorial regimes.
